For the 21st year, UVM Extension will collaborate with the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources’ Departments of Forests, Parks and Recreation and Fish and Wildlife to host Becoming an Outdoor Family, a weekend of camping and workshops to bring Vermonters outside in our beautiful state.
Stillwater State Park in the Groton State Forest will be the scene for a weekend of family fun beginning on Friday, June 1. Each attendee may select three classes in subjects ranging from shooting sports to wildlife watching to shapes in nature; there will be a pot-luck dinner and a night hike, and the option of a free additional night’s stay at the park. The cost per group (up to 8 people) is $189, which covers a camp site and classes. There is a discount for families of military personnel.
