Early Morning Bird Walk

Join Vermont Fish & Wildlife Bird Project Leader Doug Morin and Tom Berriman of NEK Audubon for an early morning walk searching for rare resident birds, migrating birds of all kinds, and anything else of interest we find! Bring binoculars, wear outdoor footwear and be prepared to walk one to three miles on generally flat roads and trails. A bird ID book if you have one, water and a snack are also great items to bring along.

Meeting at Damon’s Crossing, Victory VT. There is no good access directly from the east or west, so it is recommended you use either Route 2 from the south or the Victory/Granby Roads from the north.

Coming from the south, it is 5.4 miles north (on Victory Road, which becomes River Road) from Route 2. Note to stay right on River Road at 3.4 miles (do not turn left on Victory Hill Road). From the north, it is 4.6 miles south (on River Road) from Gallup Mills (the intersection of Victory Rd and Granby Rd).

Look for a Fish & Wildlife truck and/or a smiling Fish & Wildlife employee to greet you at the parking area. Do not stop and wait at an empty parking area!
