Webinar:The Tree of Life: Northern White Cedar

Learn about northern white cedar—also known as arborvitae, or the tree of life—through a virtual slide show presentation with VLT’s Director of Conservation Science Liz Thompson. You’ll learn about the ecology of this exceptionally long-lived tree, including where it grows, the soils it seems to prefer, how it reproduces and regenerates, its interactions with wildlife, and the challenges in managing it. We’ll also talk about its biology and uses, including medicinal uses. The lecture will be illustrated with slides of northern white cedar and its companion species.

All are welcomed for this free webinar; please pre-register for access. There will be time for questions during the presentation.

The Vermont Land Trust welcomes and affirms all people regardless of their age, culture, abilities, ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, marital status, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
