Winter Bird Presentation and Field Walk

Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department wildlife biologist John Buck will give a presentation on Winter Birds followed by a field trip to look for birds lead by Buck and other department staff.  Participants are asked to bring along binoculars if they have them, and to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for being outdoors in winter. John Buck will discuss how birds have adapted to winter in New England, and what birds you can expect to see here during this time of year. After the presentation, participants will be guided around Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area to look for birds such as snow buntings or rough-legged hawks, and possibly catch a glimpse of a snowy owl. The event is free.  Register online at www.register-ed.com/events/view/116307 Space is limited to the first 25 people who sign up.
